Description
Just for fun, I have dug deep into my old portfolio. This painting was done sometime between 1974-1976 at my best guess. It's my earliest surviving acrylic painting, so be kind...like me it has some age spots and wear!
I was a high-school teen, back in the days of Grandma Moses, early Hallmark Christmas movies, and other naive styles. The tree branches owe more to calligraphy than nature!
I hope you enjoy this peek back.

Merana Cadorette: forgot to ask, do you photograph your own artwork to post on FAA or does someone else do it?

Dear Merana, I echo Conni’s sentiments…How fortunate you are to be able to see your early heArtwork. My early paintings, charcoals and stick- inkwork were ALL destroyed, except the paper cut gift to mémère and pépère that my aunt Jill kept which was returned to me on her demise. When I saw them in an old album thru FAA eyes, it was an amazing moment to SEE ME intimately, absent the judgment which haunted my youth. I can’t WAIT to Feature this tomorrow allowing your fellows the gift to SEE the beauty of its confident innocence and flow! FAV

lovely to see some of your earliest work, Merana - it is charming and lovely - your ability to compose a scene already showing up! I wish I had my first painting from teen years - it's the only one I did for about 40 years and my memory of it is that I "thought" it looked pretty good! Wonder what I'd think if I had it to pull out now?? F

Thank you for the lovely comment. I think if you could see your old piece, you chuckle and enjoy the memory of the young artist you were.
