Artist's Description

All Girl Scouts know that our founder, Juliette Gordon Low's nick name was "Daisy". As a personal challenge, and to try and give Girl Scouts a feeling of what it would be like if our founder was still alive and actually showed up on a scene, I created this life-sized, mixed media sculpture.
I started with a Victoria's Secret torso!
This has been seen by approximately 40, 000 people, been on exhibit in a few museums, entered in an art show, and flown on Southwest airlines (YES, 'she' had her own seat, front row to great everyone else boarding, thank you!).
Currently 'she' sits in my guest bedroom, startling visitors, awaiting a future museum to be opened. I have posted this image for the fun of entering an FAA contest, it is not a large file suitable for large reproductions. ;)

About Merana Cadorette

Merana Cadorette

I am just an old grandmother soul that has been creating since I first got a chubby baby fist on a crayon. For decades, I have worked in a variety of media, in many sizes, and in several themes. Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others. My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests. I adore dramatic color and very often lean towards a blue/orange dynamic. Skies are rarely calm, buildings should look old and lived in, and people should make you wish you could meet them. I don't exactly have a 'chosen art form'. I began with hand-built figures, added watercolors, then acrylics. Along the way, I have tried marble, bronze-casting... I...
