Artist's Description
Many years ago, I read that an author should write about "what they know".
As a mom of teenagers (at the time), what I "knew" was that age seemed to be a bottomless pit for food.
This makes a GREAT puzzle!
I was creating a series of watercolors, each of which was divided into a kaleidoscope/crazy quilt pattern, with all the sections revolving around one theme. This one echoes the hungry hoards clamoring we parents heard every night: Mom...what's to eat?
Instead of just one repast, I offer the viewer an array of entrees, side dishes, and other juicy delights. Everything is plated up, the table is set elegantly with lace, a linen serviette and sample of many china dishes. Your silverware is awaits, bon appetit!
About Merana Cadorette
I am just an old grandmother soul that has been creating since I first got a chubby baby fist on a crayon. For decades, I have worked in a variety of media, in many sizes, and in several themes. Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others. My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests. I adore dramatic color and very often lean towards a blue/orange dynamic. Skies are rarely calm, buildings should look old and lived in, and people should make you wish you could meet them. ...ohhh...the delights and the LACE...I so LOVE the lace! ( I remember the days of “the hoards” and stores were not open at all hours then...my husband casually mentioned he invited a few people back to the house for breakfast...and I made mini filled crepes with six eggs that fed 30+ Post dancing fools until 2:30 a.m....I was in my twenties is all I can say..)...v...best to you, Merana!
