Artist's Description

One of the gates featured in my book "Gates of Savannah" (History Press).
The Andrew Low House was designed in 1847 by John Norris in the Italianate style.
Girl Scouts hold it dear as the property bestowed by Andrew to their Founder, Juliette Gordon Low and her husband, Willie Low (William Mackey Low in 1886),
upon their marriage.
Juliette loved animals, and was known to stop and to pet the cast iron lions on her way in or out for luck.
