Artist's Description

This Juliette Low gate was built in 1942.
It originally had a wooden gate. On top, was a lamp with a heavy iron base, which is housed in the archives until it is deemed safe to reinstall.
It was left to the Girl Scouts of Savannah and has been in continual use for Girl Scouts ever since, longer than any other site in the US. Currently, the property is open to the public, containing council archives, a museum, and a program center/shop.

This watercolor has appeared in both my "Gates of Savannah" and " Scenes of Savannah " books.
For several years I sold 5" x 7" cards of this image as well as 3 others through the gift shop at FHQ.

Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others. My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests. I adore dramatic color and very often lean towards a blue/orange dynamic. Skies are rarely calm, buildings should look old and lived in, and people should make you wish you could meet them. I don't exactly have a 'chosen art form'. I began with hand-built figures, added watercolors, then acrylics. Along the way, I have tried marble, bronze-casting... I...
