This is a very large, 40" x 64" set of five paintings all revolving around a dawn Montgolfière (balloon) flight in the Loire valley over the Cher River and featuring an overpass of Chenonceau châteaux.
The pentatych shows: 1). the inflation of the envelope as the moon sets; 2) a view out the basket as the sun lifts over the morning mists and the sky fills with other mongolfieres, too; 3) a look above as the gas flames heat the air; 4) a look down onto the Chateaux, and finally, 5) finally, a certificate and mimosa to celebrate and commemorate the journey! (this last one is 'mixed media, as the certificates are adhered to the canvas. All the rest is painted.

I am just an old grandmother soul that has been creating since I first got a chubby baby fist on a crayon. For decades, I have worked in a variety of media, in many sizes, and in several themes. Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others. My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests. I adore dramatic color and very often lean towards a blue/orange dynamic. Skies are rarely calm, buildings should look old and lived in, and people should make you wish you could meet them.
