I almost titled this "Singing Ent"
For our 45th anniversary, we took a trip to California to see the redwoods and sequoias, visiting United States' Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park and exploring a bit of the area.
As a Tolkien fan, I loved the faces I saw in the burls and knots. This one looks like he's singing, but since it's named after the man who invented the Cherokee alphabet, perhaps he is just teaching it to the rest of the weird little faces morphing from the other stumps, root and trees...
Chief Sequoyah is a giant sequoia in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park in California. It is the 9th largest tree in Giant Forest grove, the 27th largest giant sequoia in the world (could be considered the 26th largest depending on how badly Ishi Giant atrophied during the Rough Fire in 2015).

I am just an old grandmother soul that has been creating since I first got a chubby baby fist on a crayon. For decades, I have worked in a variety of media, in many sizes, and in several themes. Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others. My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests.
