Description
A watercolor still life I painted immediately after my father passed away.
The week after the funeral, while everyone was going through life in a daze, with emotions raw, I turned to my art for solace.
I chose this very NON-funereal arrangement, that spoke of life and vibrancy and color. I placed it in a warm, sunny area with an ethereal curtain, then set a picture we all loved of our Dad in a happy moment.
My mother became fascinated with the process and added his cross.
Over the course of the week, as I worked on this, it became cathartic to me, and I think others.
Many wanted it, so my mother requested a limited set of prints, enough for family.

Merana, such a WONDERful Tribute. I agree, there is something about transmuting deep emotion into beauty that lightens the heArt, frees the pain and rekindles memories. LF…BEST to you.
