A (very) brief note
I would love to tell you something fascinating and deep like my brushstrokes are inspired by the Persian cuneiform tablets, but my palette is heightened due to Buddhist enlightenment of the Tibetan variety.
But that is not me.
I am just an old grandmother soul that has been creating since I first got a chubby baby fist on a crayon. For decades, I have worked in a variety of media, in many sizes, and in several themes. Some may reoccur and occasionally mingle with others.
My artwork sprawls from impressionist over to, but never reaching, absolute realism. It reflects my life, mental state and interests. I adore dramatic color and very often lean towards a blue/orange dynamic. Skies are rarely calm, buildings should look old and lived in, and people should make you wish you could meet them.
I don't exactly have a 'chosen art form'. I began with hand-built figures, added watercolors, then acrylics. Along the way, I have tried marble, bronze-casting... I have worked from miniature figures, 9" tall with peacock feather vanes for eyelashes to a mural 150" x 42" tall. I enjoy colors, drama and challenges. I paint the things and people I have loved along my journey through the years.
I have been in juried international shows, and written a book or four (mostly to tie all my artwork between the covers together).
My subject matter, media, and style has changed and evolved over the years as I have experience
life-altering events.
Thank you, and if you like something, please be kind and hit the 'like' counter...better yet, buy a little something for your home and friends.
